The Plump Djs are internationally renowned DJ/Producer duo Andy Gardner and Lee Rous of London. Their unmistakable sound has won them remixes from the likes of Deadmou5, Mark Ronson, Moby and Orbital, whilst their four deck live show has led to countless international and national shows.
1) Yes Yes - Can you tell us what your favourite thing is about the new track?
Yes yes : We love the vocal because we grew up with the sound Roxanne Shante and the beats and the grove were inspired by the Pocadots record that rocked our world when it hit the streets.
2) Can you tell us about new project you will be working on 2016?
2016: We have been working on new Bass/Breaks releases, remixes and singles for Punks record label and others. We have also had the chance to play many great shows. The highlight of the year was closing Glastonbury with the Stantons on the arcadia stage.
3) Imagine yourself walking into the studio; please may you talk me through a typical day?
We have a structure day 11am - 6pm, writing, composing, arranging and planning. We try and do social media outside of these hours and make sure we have a good plan of work before we start any week.
4) What are your habits?
We start with the ideas, and find the right method of achieving the goals.
5) What’s the one piece of DJ/production gear you can’t live without?
We cant live without our Yamaha NS10's and Genelec speakers, they are our ears!
6) Any particular artists/dj’s/ producers that really influenced you?
At the moment we are being heavily influenced by many artistes on the UK bass scene. Eg Left/Right & Hybrid theory .
7) How’s the UK music scene in this moment?
Dance music in the UK is flourishing dispite the recent tragic loss of our Fabric Nightclub.
8) Often particular cities are linked to certain sounds and sub genres. Do you think living in London is reflected in your music?
Yes 'music has been the biggest inspiration for us now all our lives. The pace, hustle and unrest of the city plus the love we have for its diverse culture and atmosphere fuels our fire still.
