How was 2016 for you?
In general 2016 was as long as every year …  But I'm much more satisfied with all the  BREAKS“ within! There has been some releases that I'm really happy about. For example the collaborations with  Deep Garnet Records“ and my EP  Butterflies“. This shows my vision of the  new breaks order“!! My aim is and was to reinvent the breaks-music, to get it deeper, to open it to the house-public,  to reach more and more compliance in a bigger audience!
Jump Up Original Mix Can you tell us what your favourite thing is about your new track?
As in every track of mine, I love most the way of its genesis. It was developed in a jam session with my good synthesizer-friends called  Prophet“,  Moog“ and  Gaia“  It can be regarded as the result of an inspirational feeling. And if you create music by following your emotions, comb…

Aural Abuse started out life as one half of Dublin band C-Quence (Alan Walsh and Steven Connolly). From Kilbarrack the duo embarked on a 12 year rollercoaster ride which saw them performing alongside some of the worlds biggest DJ's including Mickey Finn, Phil Jubb, Justin Garett, Eric Morillo, Paul Oakenfold, D:Ream etc. Most of the gigs took place in Dublin's Ormond Multimedia centre which was later torn down to make way for a hotel.

C-Quence decided to stop gigging as the gigs were coming faster that the material could be produced and this ultimately led to the duo writing their projects separately. Steven went on to form the hugely successful "Man in a Room" which resides primarily on the Queep label.
Meanwhile Alan went to the darker side of the world of music and started producing Nu Skool breaks un…

Interview with all artists nominated in the Breakbeat Awards 2016

How was 2016 for you?

2016 was a bit slow for me music wise as I was involved in selling my home and relocating.  I tried not to take on any major projects until after the summer.  The largest project/undertaking for me was taking on the DJ role for hip hop group Butterfinger Bombsquad.  It has been good to get a few rehearsals and gigs with them under our belts for future work in 2017 and beyond.
